The major mountain passes: Aubisque, Marie-Blanque, Pourtalet…
Aubisque, the Tour route that passes in front of our house.
A 95 km circuit with an elevation gain of 1,677 m. This route includes two legendary mountain passes: Soulor and Aubisque. The
climb from Ferrières is steep with sections at 9% and an average gradient of 8%. Then comes the descent into the
magnificent Litor cirque before a climb of around 5% to the summit of the Aubisque. The last 3 km are at
8%. Low gears are recommended (28×24, for example).
The Col de Marie Blanque.
Leaving the campsite, head towards Saint Christau, cross the Forêt du Bager, then after Escot (25th km), you
will tackle the famous climb up the Col de Marie Blanque, 9.5 km of which is at 7.5%. Descend via the pretty Bénou plateau and return
to the campsite via the famous Côte de Louvie. The loop is 55 km long.
- The Col du Pourtalet: from the campsite, head towards Laruns.
- The Pyrenean mountain pass route from Larrau to the Col d’Aubisque
- The Col de la Pierre Saint Martin from Arette.
- The Col d’Issarbe from Lanne en Barétous
- The Haut Béarn circuit.
